Firetrucks and Friends
This afternoon the boys were invited to Tristian's birthday party. Tucker and Tristian were in the same class last year at school. Even though we don't see them very much now they pick up as if no time has passed at all. Tucker also got to play with a former classmate, Parker, too. He sure does miss his friends from TCS. The boys loved getting to ride in a firetruck and see how it works and spend time with some old friends.

Sharing
More times than not the boys do not share whatever it is they are playing with, eating, etc. The other afternoon was one of those rare occasions that the boys were sharing. I had been giving Griffin tiny pieces of apple and then Tucker decided to give him a piece of his. Griffin enjoyed eating apple like a big boy like brother.

Labor Day
After being in school for almost 3 weeks, we needed a 3 day weekend from school. Griffin got ear infections in both ears last week and we found out the next day his room had mold in it due to a leaking pipe in the attic. He has been bunking in Mommy and Daddy's room and him and Mommy aren't getting much sleep.
Last night we got together with the Traphagan side of the family to celebrate Labor Day and the Griffin side tonight. The boys sure do love getting to play with their cousins.
Growing up, Pop (Mommy's dad), always made homemade ice cream. He still likes to make it on special occasions. Tucker was his assistant this afternoon with mixing up the ice cream and helping put in more ice and rock salt. Griffin and Tucker both enjoyed getting to eat Pop's ice cream. Tucker went back for 3rds!

School
Both of the boys seem to be adjusting pretty well to our new school. Tucker goes in every morning without a problem and Griffin is getting better about Mommy walking away from him. They are both learning so much. Here are some pictures of them at school this past week.

Wesley Academy
Yesterday started the new chapter for the boys, attending Wesley Academy.
It was quite interesting getting a picture of the two boys before we left the house, bright and early.
The best one that we could got.
We have to leave super early in the mornings, 6 am, to beat the traffic before mommy has to be there at 7:30. Once we arrived at school the boys wanted to play in mommy's room and started throwing stacking things all over the room. (Mommy learned her lesson and now brings our breakfast to eat once we are there, leaving little free time before we go to our classes.)
We dropped Tucker off at his class first and he walked right in and starting playing with the home center and talking on the phone. He is loving his teacher, Ms. LeBlanc, and is already learning so much, even though we are only on day 2 now.

Books
Griffin's latest obsession is books. He wants to sit and read books, one, two, three, or even four times through before getting another one.
One of his favorites is this book. He loves to pull down the flaps inside all by himself and make the noises that some of the animals make in the story.
He was very fussy tonight, we couldn't figure out why, and the only thing that calmed him down was Mommy reading to him. I read him one book and asked him to bring me the book that says "I wrote to the zoo to send me a pet, they sent me an Elephant, he was too big, so I sent him back." He went to dig in the book box and brought me the story I asked for.
Maybe this is common with 17 month olds but I'm not too sure.

Outside
The boys love being outside so much that I usually have to drag them in because they are so hot. We have been playing with water to try to help stay cool lately in the wonderful Houston heat of the summer.
