1%

This past Sunday on our way into church Tucker was running and slipped because the floor was wet. He landed face first on the floor and when he got up there was blood everywhere. Mommy knew it wasn't his lip and upon closer examination saw that his tongue was split on the tip. Everyone rushed to help us and we headed to Texas Children's.

By this time the bleeding had stopped. We saw the triage nurse and she said 99% of the time they don't stitch tongues but he looks like he'll be the 1% that does. The doctor confirmed we were having our tongue stitched up.

The doctor gave him some go to sleep medicine and the first dose didn't work so they had to give him more. Half way through the procedure he started crying and clamped his mouth shut. They had to give him more medicine to keep him out to finish.

Tucker got 5 stitches in his tongue. When he woke up he was very loopy and because he had the pulse ox on his toe it was red and he started waving his foot in the air and making noises like an ambulance.

Most certainly not the way that Daddy wanted to spend his 33rd birthday but his touch calmed Tucker just like it has since he was in the NICU.

9 months old

I can hardly believe that Griffin is already 9 months old. Here is an update on what is going on with our little guy....

  • He is on the move, he is like a super speed crawler.
  • He pulls up on everything and walks around the coffee table and from the couch to the chair via the ottoman.
  • He can clap.
  • He can wave bye bye.
  • He still doesn't sleep through the night.
  • He loves playing with his friends at school.
  • He loves to smile and laugh.
  • He is super attached to mommy lately and doesn't want anyone else.

King of the Jungle

Tucker was in his first school performance and he was a lion.

His class sang Bullfrogs and Butterflies.

He was a lion for Daniel and the Lions Den and was actually roaring while walking around.

 After the performance was over...
as you can tell someone enjoyed it.

Trick or Treat

This Halloween was the first year of Trick or Treating for both Griffin and Tucker. Tucker had a blast last night with his cousin going to the doors and saying Trick or Treat. Then he'd tell them thank you and wave goodbye. He didn't want to let go of his candy and put it in his bag, he carried a tootsie roll around for a long time and then ate it.

Griffin went as a gumball machine and Tucker went as Elmo.
